Through the Ages: History of the Library 

A little bit of everything at the start? 

In the early stage when Dong Hwa first started, increasing the amount of holdings is the Library's main goal. The Library purchase relevant books and audiovisual materials according to different departments' needs. At that time, there are still some departments that don't have their own space (building) so they took possession of the fifth and sixth floor as their office to work.

The next important transformation is after merging two schools, Dong Hwa built new teaching zone which made these offices transfer into their own department. Then, the sparing space of fifth and sixth are perfect for the Library resources from both schools to fit. The Library also took the opportunity to replan the whole space. Because of the high traffic, the first and second floor is the communion area. Also, the Yang Mu Library, School History Room, Special collections of celebrities all locate in this area. Third and fourth floor is the reading area. Fifth and sixth floor is an area for collectible books.

In the future, the Library intends to implement. more automatic system, to increase efficiency and accuracy, at the same time, lighten the burden of the librarians that we didn't have much.
